Hot Times for Real Estate Investors

June 14th, 2011 -- by Ryan Tucker

According to a recent study conducted by Move.com, now is a great time for real estate investors.

Investors are not interested in “flipping” properties. Instead, 67.5% of investors surveyed said they are investing for the long term, with 50% planning to hold on to their properties for more than five years.

These investors are more entrepreneurial-minded, and focused on investing their own money and sweat equity in properties, says Steve Berkowitz, CEO of Move, Inc.

“These personal sacrifices made over the long run will help improve housing stocks, home values, property tax bases, and thousands of local communities,” Berkowitz says.

And perhaps the most interesting development? More than 60% of investors surveyed said they are new to real estate investing, with 33% currently considering purchasing their first investment property.
